Implementation of the project is scheduled over 4 years, from 2006 to 2010.

It is structured around three elements:

- Inventory and description of local specialities from the Home Gardens : ten of them will be selected, based on the uniqueness of their traditional know-how, and the durability of the links between the farming communities and their environment ;

- Design and implementation of a legal and institutional mechanism of Geographic Indications protection, meant to register and valorise the selected terroir produce;

- Implementation of an international promotion plan for the terroir produce, and notably establishment in Addis Ababa of the House of Ethiopian Terroirs, a showcase and information centre for Ethiopian specialities. This House will be managed by an Association regrouping representatives of the public and private sectors.
